After their first season in the Dales Council League, Halifax Direct has now not only managed to get promotion to Division B, but have also won the league outright.
We got off to a great start winning the first 9 in a row, and haven't looked back since. Things did become a bit more tense towards the end of the season when we went through a bit of a dry patch, but other results went our way and the rest is history.
We are all so pleased about they way this season has gone as we really didn't expect to do so well. Whilst in their first season Halifax have been promoted as Champions to Division B their status in the Fair Play League was also something to be proud of. Throughout the season all the games have played in a competetive but most of all in a friendly manner. Halifax finished 5th in the Fair Play League which speaks volumes for its players.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the following people: First of all our fellow competitors who have contributed to making the season so enjoyable.
Secondly a big mention to Lindsey Tasker and Sue Wilkins for helping with the initial set up costs and providing us with our Halifax caps enabling us to look more like a professional outfit.
And on that Note, we now look forward to next season and the challenge that is Division B.
